What is Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT)?

"To be human is to need others, and this is no flaw or weakness." - Dr. Sue Johnson

Does it feel like you and your partner are getting into the same fight over and over again? Are you feeling frustrated by not being able to figure out how to fix these painful moments in your relationship? This is where I can help.

EFT is a structured and directive approach to couple's therapy, formulated in the 1980s and based on attachment science. A substantial body of research now exists on the effectiveness of EFT, showing large treatment effect sizes and stable results over time across varied cultural groups and educational levels.

As an EFT trained couples therapist, I can guide you and your partner into deeper understanding of what is getting in the way of being able to more meaningfully connect. Our work will focus on facilitating the creation of a secure, lasting bond between partners, with the goal of helping to increase security, closeness, and connection.
